Many of you are undoubtedly familiar with Craigslist. For those of you who aren’t, this used to be a premium spot for picking up ladies with minimal effort. CL, as it is often referred to, is a giant classifieds website where almost anything you think of can be found.

Unfortunately, as with everything that gets too popular, CL is now filled with endless spam ads. I’d even venture to guess that as much as 85% of ads in the ‘Casual Encounters’ area are fake. This is why I wouldn’t both with free sites such as Craigslist anymore, but if you do feel inclined to seek out that hidden gem, here are some pointers to avoid spam traps:

• Browse a few different cities and you will notice some ads have exactly the same photo as ads in a completely different city. These are fakes.
• Be wary of any ads where the English is very poor, or words are put together that make no sense.
• Any ad advertising to ‘See my Photos at’ is obviously spam.
• Any ads mentioning webcams are 99% fake.
• You will find more real ads if you read those without a photo attached. Spammers are looking for quick traffic and money, so they almost always use photos to attract your attention.
• Though you are seeking a fun fling, you may have better luck staying out of the ‘Casual Encounters’ section and just looking in the ‘Women Seeking Men’ sections. There are many chicks there who want to get it on too, who just aren’t as explicit about it.
• Posting your ad is likely a waste of time, as there are thousands of posts by males seeking females daily. Don’t waste your time, just focus on contacting as many women as you can find you would be interested in. Remember, it’s all a numbers game!
• Have a decent photo or photos ready to send with your email. Typically, no one wants a screenshot of just your ‘junk’. Face shots and full body shots, non-nude, work best for all situations. Make sure they are not excessively large (under 100K!) or they may not get through by email.

I hope you will find the above information useful, from time to time I still use CL but you are MUCH better off sticking to other locations in this day and age. For the best time/effort/cost ratio, stick with the real dating sites. It isn’t free, but once you follow my advice (coming soon) and hook up as often as you want, do you really mind paying $30/month to get laid at will? That’s cheaper than taking one girl out to dinner.
